Sunshine Coast Fishing
Salmon fisherman troll along the shelf edges from Gibsons to Roberts Creek. Sechelt, Halfmoon Bay, Secret Cove and Pender Harbour are all popular starting places for boaters and anglers.
Great fishing spots include:
- Storm Bay in Sechelt Inlet
- Halfmoon Bay east of Jeddah Point
- Smugglers Cove Marine Park (May to Sept.)
- Cranby Creek and Gillies Bay off Texada Island
- Potter Bay
- Lasqueti Island
- Tucker Bay
- and Duncan Cove.
The Coast hosts more than 30 marinas offering fishers everything from boat rentals to live bait.
Freshwater fishing at the north end of the Coast includes trout, cutthroat and kokanee in Sakinaw and Ruby Lakes.
